Facebook Indie Contest



Leading the Marketing strategy and management for Facebook's first gaming contest was exciting and new for the team and a privilage for me. Working with cross functional teams to launch a successful campaign targeted to Indie Developers the US and Canada proved to be a success for the team and led to future opportunities to reach a more niche indie audience.


Goal: Inspired by Indie developers continued force behind creativity within the games industry, identify and encourage these niche developers to leverage Facebook's tools to increase the success of their games.


Strategy: Launch a 2 week contest with expert Facebook panelists reviewing each game on the originality of their ideas, the strength of their execution, and how well the gameplay ties each element together.


Selecting 5 games and their creators, who received a $10,000 USD ad coupon from Facebook, one month of fully-managed creative services from a Facebook Marketing Partner, Bidalgo and creative production account setup and management to help them take their game to the next level.


Responsibiliites included:

  • Drive initiative from concept to execution

  • Landing page development and flow

  • Legal and contracts approval to partner with third party developers

  • T&C's + FAQ creation

  • Manage promotional assets and strategy to promote the contest and winners at the conclusion (blog post, email marketing, social media strategy, website promotion)

  • Work directly with winners on legal approvals and ensure prize delivered virtually
